Many customers ask us, “Can we pick cherries in Hokkaido?”
The climate of Ashibetsu, Hokkaido is ideal for growing fruit trees, with a large temperature difference necessary for the sweetness of cherries, and the harsh winters mean fewer diseases and pests.
In addition, our farm offers not only Sato Nishiki (Yamagata’s main variety), but also Gassan Nishiki, which has the highest sugar content, Nanyo, which is known as the “king of cherries,” and over 20 other varieties that please our customers.

As I mentioned earlier, Hokkaido’s cold winters are very helpful in reducing diseases and pests, which in turn helps reduce the amount of pesticides used.
